Teach You How To Use Hand Cream Correctly

2025-03-13

There are few sebaceous glands on the skin of the hands. Frequent hand washing and disinfection will take away the sebaceous gland lipids, which are already few in number. The skin cannot be effectively moisturized and the moisture cannot be fully retained. The skin barrier structure will be continuously damaged during frequent cleaning and disinfection, resulting in dry or cracked skin on the hands, and in severe cases, dermatitis may also occur. Therefore, applying hand cream becomes a vital part of hand care.

Do a good job of hydration and moisturizing

When you just wash your hands, your hands will be more tender than before washing. Washing your hands, using hydrating essence or hydrating spray can allow the skin of your hands to absorb moisture and hydrate. However, this hydration is only temporary. As the moisture on the surface of the skin evaporates quickly, the skin will return to its previous state after a few minutes, or even become drier than before. In order to have tender skin, you also need to "lock" the moisture absorbed by the skin's stratum corneum, that is, moisturize.

Common formulas in hand creams include moisturizers and emollients, which can retain skin moisture. The moisturizers can maintain the moisture content of the stratum corneum and maintain the skin barrier function. Emollients can promote smooth and soft texture on the surface of the skin.

Master the application method

After washing your hands, immediately wipe the water with a clean and soft towel or paper towel to minimize the impact of water evaporation on the skin's moisture. Apply hand cream in time after drying. It is recommended to use tube-packed hand cream that is easy to carry.

Take a circular hand cream with a diameter of about 1.5 cm and gently spread it on the back of both hands; and use the pulp of the thumb to draw circles on the back of the hand to apply the hand cream evenly, massage from the fingertips to the base of the fingers; then massage from the base of the fingers to the fingertips to apply the hand cream evenly; use one hand to massage the entire palm of the other hand to apply the hand cream evenly; massage the entire wrist area to apply the hand cream evenly. Follow the same steps to apply hand cream to the other hand.
